Ron Barshinger

Ron Barshinger has been the organist for First UMC since 1989. A son of
this church, Ron was born and raised in DeKalb. He graduated in 1974
from Monmouth College, Monmouth, IL with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Music Education with a Keyboard emphasis. While there, he studied organ
privately with Ellwood Ball. He has accompanied numerous community,
school, and church activities over the years. He is a regular
accompanist for the DeKalb School District #428 for IHSA and IGSMA Solo
& Ensemble contests. In addition to his church responsibilities, Ron is
employed at Northern Illinois University as the Library Operations
Associate, responsible for all service desks, and with T.K. Cleaning. |
